SPA Charity Projects

The SPA, with help from Singapore companies operating in the Philippines, has been doing its bit for the community in Payatas since 18 November 2000. The SPA donated food and clothing to the survivors of the Payatas garbage dump tragedy which killed over 200 slum dwellers then. The Association raised a cash donation of over Php 90,000 to buy food for the Payatas residents and initiate a feeding programme for the children. The Payatas Feeding Station provides Payatas children hot meals from Monday to Friday as well as vitamin supplements for malnourished children. SPA continues to help maintain the feeding station in Payatas as an ongoing charity project. A Singaporean company is also providing scholarships to a few of the children of Payattas. SPA members and Singapore companies in the Philippines continue to donate clothes, shoes and toys to the needy in Payattas.
